Peroneal Tendonitis

Nothing Rest and Physical Therapy Can’t Fix

Two tendons – the posterior tibial and the Achilles – connect the lower leg to the foot. These tendons are vital, working in concert to stabilize the foot and ankle. Inflammation in one or both, known as peroneal tendonitis, can result from overuse or an ankle sprain or other injury, causing pain, swelling, and weakness that rest and physical therapy can remedy.
