Advanced Care Physical Therapy has a staff of dedicated people, all trained to address your physical therapy, diagnostic testing and wellness needs. For our team, it’s all about strengthening the relationships with our patients, referring doctors, staff and collaborative partners to offer a best in class experience every time!

From our front desk team to our expert physical therapy and wellness staff, we are here for you and your family. We understand the importance of a best-in-class experience that begins the first time you contact our office and walk through the doors of our six locations. Our locations include specialized care for medically integrated wellness programs at BCPA Fitness, Schroth Method treatment for scoliosis in Williamsville, head and neck treatment in partnership with Dr. Jeffrey Goldberg, and high performance sports training with IMPACT Sports Performance at HARBORCENTER.

We will help you navigate the ever changing healthcare system and assist you with every aspect of your therapy.  All of our physical therapists are active members of the American Physical Therapy Association who are trained and certified in CPR, First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and the Graston Technique, a form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization.

    Shannon Handzlik
    Villa PTA, Class of 2015
    Shannon is from West Seneca and decided to pursue a career in PT when she had to go for Physical therapy several years ago. She really enjoyed getting the opportunity to see patients progress throughout the entire recovery process. It was at this point she knew she wanted to be a part of a team that could help people with their recovery. While at Advanced Care Physical Therapy, she wants to gain confidence, expand her knowledge, and get more comfortable performing manual therapy. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys going out with my friends or just staying in with her family and two dogs.

    Ashley Sanders
    NCCC PTA, Class of 2015
    Ashley is from Ransomville, NY and decided to pursue a career in physical therapy when a friend of hers was diagnosed with Scoliosis. This personal connection along with her desire to help people inspired her to enroll in the PTA program at NCCC. While at Advanced Care Physical Therapy, Ashley is excited to be exposed to the Schroth Method for Scoliosis Treatment while in Scoliosis Center in Williamsville, and wants to gain additional experience with patients facing a variety of orthopedic conditions to further her knowledge. When she isn't in the clinic or studying, Ashley enjoys hiking, camping, and reading.n

    Marcy is from Avon NY and decided to pursue a career in physical therapy while working at a local geriatric facility. While in this role she managed an exercise program for clients, and witnessed first-hand the benefits. She participated in various sports while in high school, and appreciates the benefits of living an active and functionally sound lifestyle. While at Advanced Care Physical Therapy she wants to gain confidence in working with patients, and improve her manual skills. She also wants to apply the knowledge she has obtained in the classroom to the clinic setting. In her spare time, Marcy enjoys hiking and outdoor activities.
    Amanda Juri

    Amanda is from Pendelton, New York and decided to pursue a career in physical therapy as she enjoys working with people and does personal training. She appreciates working with her clients with complicated issues, and quickly realized a career in physical therapy will allow her to help others recover from injuries, and improve their overall strength and condition. She calls it a 'perfect fit' for her career. Amanda is eager to improve her massage skills, and learn more about the Graston Technique and Cupping therapy offered at Advanced Care Physical Therapy. In her free time, Amanda enjoys martial arts, Hiking and camping.
    Melissa Shepard
    Clarkson, DPT, Class of 2015
    Melissa is from Plymouth Massacheutts and decided to pursue a career in physical therapy following injuries she experienced while growing up. She experienced the positives benefits of physical therapy first hand, and decided it was her field of choice. Melissa played field hockey and participated in synchronized skiing while in high school. She appreciates the benefits of living a functional sound and active lifestyle. With family in WNY, she selected Advanced Care Physical Therapy due to reputation, and the commitment to manual therapy. Melissa is excited for her graduation in May. She works really well with the Williamsville Team and enjoys working with different conditions. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family and playing with her dogs.
    Joe Gelose
    Daemen DPT, Class od 2015
    Joe is from Niagara Falls NY and decided to pursue a career in physical therapy because as an athlete growing up, he had multiple injuries that caused him to go to physical therapy. This had a direct impact on why he wants to help out others with injuries and assist them at getting back to full function. While at Advanced Care Physical Therapy, he wants to enhance his manual therapy skill set, and be better my ability to diagnose orthopedic injuries. He enjoys working with Craig and the Niagara Falls Team and appreciates seeing different treatment approaches for different conditions. He quickly realized different patients may require a more specialized treatment path. Outside of school, Joe enjoys cycling, kayaking and skiing.n
    Amanda Fasano
    Texas Tech DPT, Class of 2015
    Amanda is from Austin, Texas and decided to pursue a career in physical therapy after having several injuries while playing soccer in high school. As a result, she went through physical therapy for several years, and experienced how important it was in the healing process. She is looking forward to learning different techniques and enhancing her manual skills while at Advanced Care Physical Therapy. She appreciates seeing all the different conditions in the Niagara Falls clinic, and is learning various aspects of therapy that isn't regularly taught in school. When she isn't in the clinic, or studying, Amanda enjoys running, traveling, and doing anything outside.
    Kadie Bowman
    Texas Tech DPT, Class of 2015
    Kadie is from San Antonio, TX where she was born and raised. She attended Texas Tech University for her undergraduate education, and continued on at the school for for her DPT. She will tell you, 'wreck em Tech'! With her graduation approaching, she is extremely excited to begin her life as a physical therapist. She decided to pursue a career in physical therapy after her cousin broke his neck snowboarding, and she visited him at the rehab hospital. After going to a few therapy sessions with him, she knew this was what she wanted to do. While at Advanced Care Physical Therapy, she wants to enhance her manual orthopedic skills, and get a strong understanding of all diagnostic terms. In her free time, Kadie enjoys exploring new areas and binge watching shows on Netflix.

    Kevin Sonthana was born and raised in Penfield, NY. His father went through a significant amount of physical therapy when he was in elementary school after he was struck by a car moving at a high speed. The accident shattered his right lower leg completely. He remembers going with his father to a physical therapy clinic in Fairport, NY. The physical therapist did an amazing job in getting his father to be able to walk again. He was extremely thankful to the professionals who helped his dad. He also went through physical therapy when he tore his ACL in 2012. After rehabilitation, he knew for sure that he wanted to be a PT for life. He loves the fact Advanced Care Physical Therapy is a manual therapy clinic, and he really enjoys working with Holly, Gina and everyone at BCPA.

    Amanda is from Buffalo NY and decided to pursue a career in physical therapy when she was a preschool teacher. She had a student who was non-mobile who received Physical Therapy in her classroom to help gain more mobility. She was impressed by the results. The therapist was able to get the student to a new functioning level and also had a positive impact on this students family. During her clinical with Advanced Care Physical Therapy, she wants to apply things she has learned in the classroom, and be exposed to different treatment techniques for her patients. She really enjoys working with Jackie and the Niagara Falls Team. When she is not in the clinic, Amanda enjoys gardening.
    UB Exercise Science, Class of 2015
    Bridget is from Syracuse, NY and decided to pursue a career in Exercise Science because she believes physical activity plays a key role in an individualu2019s overall health and wellness, and exercise has the ability to improve quality of life. With her degree she wants to educate others on the vast benefits of exercise, and promote programs to positively impact the lives of others. She is planning on attending the UB DPT program in the fall 2015. Bridget wants to apply the knowledge she has learned through her undergraduate program in a real life clinical setting. She is eager to learn and develop more patient-care skills, which she feels is a big part of both Exercise Science and Physical Therapy. Bridget enjoys skiing, staying active and finding new exercising opportunities to challenge herself.

    Raechele is from New Hartford, NY and decided to pursue a career in Exercise Science since she always had a personal interest in athletics and fitness. In high school, she participated in various sports and activities eventually resulting in a knee injury. Her doctor prescribed physical therapy and she immediately took a strong interest in the field. She is planning on attending the UB DPT program in the fall. She wants to learn more about fitness evaluations and baseline testing so she can tailor an exercise program to an individualu2019s needs, as well as obtain a more broad knowledge of different exercise techniques and programs. Raechele is also interested in Softball/Baseball, Exercise nutrition, cardiac rehabilitation and the martial arts.

    David is from Syracuse, NY and decided to pursue a career in the field of physical therapy due to some positive personal experiences he had with PTAs in the past. He was treated a few years ago for knee and lower back issues, and became friends with the PTA. This really influenced his career path. He enjoys working with Laura and the team in the Wheatfield Clinic, and appreciates how much he is learning due to the coaching and practices he is exposed to on a daily basis. He expects to come out of his clinical experience as a more prepared clinician, and apply the skills he learned throughout his rotation.

    Angela is from Niagara Falls and decided to pursue a career in physical therapy because she wants to help people reach their highest functioning level both in and outside of the clinic. She enjoys working with Michelle, and the entire Williamsville team. She feels it is the ideal environment for learning and her development. The hands on practice she is receiving allows her to improve her clinical, and patient experience skills, and allows her to become more comfortable working with her patients. When Angela isn't studying she enjoys hiking and kayaking.
