Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death from disease in children under the age of 15. We remember all families who have lost their children to cancer and applaud organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation (Director Tracy Gray, pictured right with Brian Lawrence (Brian Jr 2001), Chuck Collard (Carly 2002) and Burt Foster (Matthew 1999) for making a difference in the fight against cancer. While researchers at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, in partnership with Carly’s Club, and many other pediatric cancer centers are making great progress in the search for a cure, they need more funding to continue their work. So each September during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Advanced Care Physical Therapy rallies to increase visibility of pediatric cancer in our communities. Get involved by learning, joining, sharing, and speaking up for kids with cancer. The team at Advanced Care Physical Advanced Care Physical Therapy is proud to support Carly’s Club for Kids & Cancer Research in WNY. Carly’s Club exists to offer support programs to make life more manageable for children diagnosed with cancer and their families, and to raise funds for pediatric cancer research seeking cures at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Dollars raised by Carly’s Club are currently making a major difference in helping some of the world’s top scientists in their efforts to create a future of 100 percent cure rates for all children diagnosed with cancer. Carly’s Club funding is now supporting innovative studies of drug resistance in pediatric tumors. Each year, thanks to many generous donations and sponsorships, Carly’s Club members are treated to special parties such as a Halloween Bash; our annual Breakfast with Santa; Spa parties; a Summer Picnic; VIP Buffalo Bills tailgate parties; and much, much more! Other year-round opportunities funded by donations include tickets to local sporting events in VIP seats; tickets to concerts and theater productions; and celebrity meet and greets. A special thank you to all county and state leaders and organizations committed to raising awareness for pediatric cancer. ShineGold!
